 Rock-Paper-Scissors-

(Lizard-Spock): travelling waves, spirals and heteroclinic networks in models of cyclic dominance

The Rock-Paper-Scissors game provides an appealing simple model of cyclic competition between different strategies or species in evolutionary game theory and biology. The addition of two further strategies (Lizard and Spock) allows for a network of transitions between possible states. In this talk I will discuss a variety of interesting dynamics that arise, including travelling waves and spiral waves in spatially extended systems, and complex cycling patterns near a heteroclinic network.
