Equivariant cohomology is an invariant of topological spaces with the action of a topological group. In the smooth category, the  cohomology ring can be computed using equivariant differential forms. In this talk I will review this construction and explain how it can be refined, using ideas from quantum theory, to yield an even stronger invariant. This is work in progress with Andrew Linshaw.
